Maya's Itinerary | Non-Profit Organizations
Under the well-known label, "Maya", Maya Tiwari reaped fame at an early as a fashion designer in New York. She was recognized for her pioneering work in introducing stretch clothing into the high fashion market. Her designs were lauded by Fashion Greats such as the late Diana Vreeland and Sally Kirkland as America's first contribution to its own identity in fashion. The timelessness and technical prowess of her designs influenced the work of many contemporary designers of her day. Following her bout with cancer and her miraculous survival of the disease, Maya traded the Fashion Industry in for a life on the spiritual path. Scores of her design samples, patterns, and clips are housed at the Fashion Institute of Technology as an inspiration to students. Her extraordinary design legacy continues to influence international fashion trends. (We will be adding to, and updating Maya's fashion gems, press clips, etc. as we unearth them.)
